Family & Children's Dental Care
With regular check-ups and minimal essential treatment, we help young children to understand the importance of looking after their teeth and mouth so that they are on the right track for the rest of their life.
Crowns, Bridges, and Veneers
Crowns and veneers can often be used to improve appearance and to repair teeth with terrific results. If a tooth is lost through an accident or is too badly damaged to be saved with a crown or veneer, a bridge may be another option for its replacement.
Preventative Dental Care
Wisdom Teeth Extractions
Wisdom tooth extraction is a surgical procedure to remove one or more wisdom teeth located at the back corners of your mouth on the top and bottom. If a wisdom tooth doesn’t have room to grow (impacted wisdom tooth), resulting in pain, infection or other dental problems, you’ll likely need to have it pulled. Wisdom tooth extraction may be done by a dentist or an oral surgeon.
Composite fillings ( restorations) can be an alternative to amalgam (metal) fillings. They are made of a plastic material and are tooth-coloured rather than silver. They can be suitable for both front and back teeth.
An Invisalign treatment consists of a series of nearly invisible, removable aligners that you change every two weeks for the next set of aligners. Each aligner is individually manufactured for your teeth. As you replace each aligner, your teeth will move – little by little, week by week – until they have straightened to the final position prescribed by your dental practice.
Snoring & Sleep Apnoea
Sleep disorders are a real problem. Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA) is present when the airway at the back of the throat is repeatedly blocked, partly or completely, during sleep. Snoring, obesity, observed apneas and sleepiness in the day may suggest that a person has sleep apnoea. Sleep disorders are a real problem.
TMJ & Occlusal Splints
Occlusal splints and night-guards are generally recommended for people who grind or clench their teeth: a condition called “bruxism”, and for people that have had extensive dental treatment due to bruxism.
A branch of dentistry that specialises in treating patients with improper positioning of teeth when the mouth is closed (malocclusion), which results in an improper bite. Orthodontic treatments like braces or removable appliances help move teeth that are crooked or that do not fit together right. By fixing these problems, orthodontics can also help keep your mouth healthy. Crooked teeth can be harder to clean, putting you at risk for cavities and gum disease.
Root Canal Therapy
Our teeth are meant to last a lifetime. Sometimes, however, damage occurs to a tooth (often from a deep cavity or an injury that causes a tooth to crack) and the inside of the tooth becomes infected. This infection damages the pulp of the tooth – the network of blood vessels and nerves inside. Root Canal Therapy treatment involves opening the tooth, removing the damaged pulp, cleaning, shaping, filling and sealing the tooth.
